Rosberg holds off Hamilton at Brazilian GP

Nico Rosberg takes his fifth victory of the season by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo where he started from pole ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton, at the end of an event where there was no rain despite the weather forecasts. By winning his duel against his rival for the title, who notably lost time following a spin before returning to the wheels of his teammate, the German returned to 17 points behind the Championship leader. But the 2008 world champion will only need a second place in Abu Dhabi to be assured of the title.

But the public was especially delighted with the podium of Felipe Massa who was the fastest behind the Mercedes. If his teammate Valtteri Bottas took only tenth place, the local star managed to take the last step of the podium despite a five-second penalty and a stop at McLaren. Jenson Button follows in fourth place ahead Sebastian Vettel who completes the top five while his teammate retired following a broken suspension.

If Kimi Räikkönen could hope to finish ahead of his teammate, it would be Fernando Alonso who finished again ahead of the Finn by taking sixth place in the final laps. Nico Hulkenberg takes eighth place after implementing an offbeat strategy to finish in front Kevin Magnussen and Valtteri Bottas. Daniil Kvyat failed to score points ahead of Pastor Maldonado and Jean-Éric Vergne. Romain Grosjean abandoned due to mechanical problem.
