Rosberg explains his controversial pole in Monaco

Nico Rosberg could well lose his pole at the Monaco Grand Prix. The local driver is under investigation by the commissioners after having failed to brake at Mirabeau while he occupied provisional pole in the last qualifying session with a lead of only six hundredths over his teammate Lewis Hamilton. This error would not have been suspicious if his exit had not caused a yellow flag preventing his opponents from improving their times.

The pilot Mercedes obviously assures that his error is unintentional. “I thought it was over when it happened because the track had gotten better and I thought someone was going to beat me.
