Rosberg: “Too many problems with the car”

After seeing his engine go up in smoke two laps from the goal, while he was able to return to the Ferrari de Sebastian Vettel for the gain of second place, Nico Rosberg leaves Monza 53 points behind in the ranking on Lewis Hamilton, winner this Sunday.

The conclusion of an already very complicated weekend for the German driver, who competed this Sunday with a Power Unit previously used in the season and lacking power, which had already handicapped him in qualifying. Former Williams driver expected to suffer in race.

“There was simply too many problems with my car, and it was impossible to fight for victory. It hurts a lot when you have to give up with only two or three laps to go. A few corners earlier I already felt like I had lost some power, but I was still hoping I could make it
(back to Vettel).

Today is a step in the wrong direction for me at the Championship, but complaining doesn't help in these situations. I just have to keep pushing to come back even stronger. Giving up is not an option for me. I'm going to push hard to get things going in the right direction starting in Singapore, which is one of my favorite races. »
