George Russell is no stranger to quiet Sundays. Despite his very positive results so far this season, it is rare for the driver to Mercedes grabs the attention of the cameras and indulges in more solo races. He repeated this custom at the Suzuka circuit. It was a boring race, George Russell admitted to Canal +. With the new asphalts, like on the Shanghai circuit, The tires are too hard and the one-stop strategy is easy for everyone. I even think they could have held it the whole race, which doesn't help the show."
George Russell disappointed with his Saturday
In the image of Max Verstappen Since the start of the season, George Russell has consistently been able to get the most out of his mount and has thus mastered the art of optimization to perfection. On the last step of the podium in the first two rounds, in Australia and China, the Englishman was not able to repeat such a feat in the Land of the Rising Sun due to a more discreet Saturday for number 63.
« The Grand Prix was dictated by Saturday's performances, with the top six cars all finishing where they started, noted the 27-year-old pilot, Our main frustration stems from the fact that we didn't optimize qualifying. With the pace we showed in free practice, our car could have fought for the first two rows of the grid. This is the first session this year where we didn't exploit our full potential. It's a shame, but we can bounce back immediately in Bahrain." explained the King's Lynn native.
Due to George Russell's great form since the start of the season, Mercedes is second in the Constructors' Championship, 36 points behind McLaren. On the drivers' side, George Russell is fourth with 45 points, behind the two papaya drivers and the omnipotent Max Verstappen.

I've been following F1 for 60 years, but now I'm getting more and more bored I have a suggestion 2 mandatory stops, one type of tire for the whole weekend, big savings, it's absurd to see F1 drivers driving economically I have the right to dream I think this is the last season I'm following I'm bored

As on some tracks, everything now comes down to Saturday during qualifying, given the ground effect, tire degradation, and even the impossibility of overtaking (including on a track as emblematic as Suzuka!).

I wonder... if by any chance the FIA might be influencing the tire choices made by Pirelli in order to level out the performances and maintain a semblance of suspense. If the tires used were the softest, there would be more stops on these resurfaced circuits, and the cars that handle them best would be way ahead. Not sure that Verstappen could have won in these conditions, and the McLarens would have blown everyone away... to be continued.

But also, he must ask himself questions about the "little one" who is right behind him!!!
