Russell concludes final tests of the year on top in Abu Dhabi

The drivers may change, Mercedes still monopolizes the top of the rankings. The day after the time recorded by Valtteri Bottas at Yas Marina, it was Junior program protégé George Russell who showed himself the fastest, again aboard the Mercedes W10.

This Wednesday, December 4, the resident of the stable Williams completed a best lap in 1'37''204 in the middle of almost three Grands Prix covered in one day (145 laps). He got ahead Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) by almost two tenths of a second.

The Monegasque distinguished himself by spinning off at the start of turn 14 (at the start of the third sector, the most winding of the track) at the end of the afternoon. The red flag was brought out and if the driver escaped without the slightest scratch, his car was not as well.

With the tires that Pirelli intends to use in Formula 1 in 2020, the Canadian Lance stroll (Racing Point) completes the virtual podium almost eight tenths behind the English leader.

The first Frenchman classified is Pierre Gasly with her Toro Rosso (4th at 0”962). filling it with Nico Hulkenberg in Renault, Esteban Ocon, completed more laps than Tuesday with 128 loops (6th at 1”746).

Velocity was not the priority of Red Bull in view of the delay experienced by Alexander albon (7th at 1”977). Finally, and in line with the rest of the 2019 season, Williams brings up the rear with Nicholas latifi and paid driver Roy Nissany.
