Russia – EL3: The third Free Practice session canceled due to rain

While the third Free Practice session was expected, the race stewards decided to cancel it due to the poor conditions in Sochi. “In the interest of safety, [the decision was taken] to modify the official program by canceling free practice session 3 due to force majeure”, it is specified in a press release. Let's see what happens for the qualifications scheduled for this Saturday afternoon. “If qualifying is not able to take place today, as we have seen many times in the past, then we will re-schedule and hold qualifying on Sunday morning.”, said Michael Masi, the FIA ​​race director on this subject. If qualifying could not take place on Saturday or Sunday, the Free Practice 2 classification could serve as the starting grid for the race.
