Sainz not worried about Ferrari's underperformance

On paper, Carlos Sainz had an ideal start to the season with a transfer to a top team, Ferrari, in 2021 and a McLaren MCL35 which continues on the promising bases of the car orange from last year.

Except that the Scuderia is frankly struggling this year and that the technical regulations will remain generally unchanged next year. What should the Spaniard be worried about?

« A lot of people ask me if I regret my decision or am totally freaked out; I think now is not the time to answer this question., swept the Spaniard from the Hungaroring. We are at the very beginning of the season. You have to be patient.

You can see how much a car can change from one year to the next. Look at how Racing Point progressed over the winter. There is no point in worrying because things are constantly changing. Formula 1. I'm not going to worry about the current situation because everything could change in 365 days. I focus on the present.

I have already repeated it 100 times in interviews, only my season with McLaren matters to me at the moment. I'm not focusing on what's happening at Ferrari. As soon as the 2020 campaign is concluded, I will have time to switch to Maranello to see how I can help the team progress. ».

McLaren is currently 2nd in the Constructors' Championship behind Mercedes with 39 points, or 20 points and 3 places ahead of Ferrari.
