Ferrari hopes to go on vacation with a little more peace of mind. Over the last two Grands Prix, the Team suffered the abandonment of at least one of its two pilots (Sainz in Austria, Leclerc in France). Two frustrating weekends, both for the team and the drivers, while Red Bull et Verstappen escape the championship.

Arriving in Budapest, the last race before the summer break, Carlos Sainz believes that it is necessary for Ferrari to have a weekend without problems.pine. " We need it. But everyone needs a clean weekend, I think. We all strive to have incident-free weekends. It's just that in Formula 1, they are harder to get than people think. »

The Spaniard, 5th in France after a good comeback from the back of the grid, now wants to play for victory in Hungary. “I am confident that we can fight for this victory this weekend. We can have a solid weekend like we did in Austria and France. (…) We know how competitive and difficult the last Grands Prix were. You can be super competitive, do everything really well, but to win you need everything to fit together perfectly. It’s a complex side of Formula 1.”

Sainz feels “more comfortable in the car”

The recent new Grand Prix winner also has confidence in his car on the Hungarian track. According to Carlos Sainz, the Scuderia's F1-75 is more versatile than the Red Bull and should perform well this weekend. “I think this year we are confident in our chances at all the circuits we go to. Honestly, the competitiveness of the car is not a problem this year. We are competitive everywhere we go. Sometimes it is true that Red Bull seems to be a little faster. In others, we are faster and it's a great fight. But yeah, I go into every weekend thinking we can win it. »

Since his victory at Silverstone, Carlos Sainz seems to have regained good momentum, even if it has not translated into a podium since. The Spaniard judges that he is more and more comfortable with his car. “I feel more comfortable in the car. The race pace in France was good, in Austria too. So I think we have the ingredients, we just need to put it all together. I hope I can celebrate on Sunday. »
