Dominant in Free Practice 1 and during the first two qualifying sessions, Lewis Hamilton continued its momentum by taking first place for the sprint race this Saturday. Charles Leclerc opened the ball in Q3, after using three sets of soft tires in Q1. In the hunt for first place for Saturday's sprint race, Lewis Hamilton marked his entry territory by setting records in the three sectors: 1:08.107. Max Verstappen failed in his second attempt and had to settle for second place, while his pursuer in the championship was the first and only one to go under the eight minute mark by signing a 1:07.934. Valtteri Bottas completed the podium ahead of Sergio Pérez and a Pierre Gasly once again at the rendezvous. In the fight for third place in the Manufacturers' Ranking, Ferrari stood in front of the two McLaren. At last, Fernando Alonso completed the top 10 with the only Alpine in Q3. Esteban Ocon failed just outside the top 10 in Q2.

See you this Saturday at 20:30 p.m. for the first race of the weekend.
