Sauber F1 opts for Nico Hülkenberg at Silverstone

Clean F1 Team chose Nico Hulkenberg to carry out tests on the new Pirelli tires at Silverstone during the tests carried out from July 17 to 19. The Swiss team logically preferred the experience of the German against Esteban Gutiérrez who is having his first season in F1. The former Force India resident will only complete half a day of testing while the regular drivers are allowed a full day.

The Swiss team wants to take advantage of the tests to improve the development of the C32 which lacks performance compared to its older sister. Reserve driver Robin Frijns and Kimiya Sato, current leader of the Auto GP, will work on developments in the car. The reigning Formula champion Renault 3.5 Series should be used the most by racing on the track on the first day and sharing the wheel with Nico Hülkenberg on the second day. The Japanese should then take over for the final session.
