Sauber remains at the forefront at Jerez

Felipe Nasr imitated his teammate Marcus Ericsson by achieving the second time of the day in Jerez (Spain) at the wheel of the Sauber C34. The Brazilian ranked eight tenths of the benchmark established by Sebastian Vettel and was able to complete 88 laps without encountering any major problems. With the 73 loops completed the day before by the Swede, the car de Hinwil carried out in total 161 towers at the end of the first two days of testing.

“We practiced procedures and settings and different things like that in the morning.”, said Giampaolo Dall’Ara, Sauber’s chief engineer F1 team. “We worked on engine settings and tires in the afternoon. We thought the weather would remain dry but we were able to easily adapt. »

Felipe Nasr was able to discover the Sauber C34 in wet conditions for his debut with the Swiss team. The Brazilian will remain behind the wheel on the third day. “It was important for me to get used to this new environment, but I was able to adapt to all situations. We can start focusing on the details. »
