Schumacher reportedly signs with Mercedes GP

The announcement of the return of Michael Schumacher en Formula 1 no longer seems very far from being made official. Indeed, Mercedes GP has confirmed that a press conference will be held in the morning to announce its second driver who will in all likelihood be Michael Schumacher.

On Tuesday, the Bild newspaper indicated that a one-year contract had been signed between the seven-time World Champion and the Mercedes GP team. The official announcement should therefore come today; both parties were waiting for the last doubts regarding the German pilot's physical fitness to be resolved.

Still according to Bild, Michael Schumacher should receive a salary close to 7 million euros to pilot the second silver arrow alongside Nico Rosberg.

If this information was confirmed, Michael Schumacher would therefore return to competition after three years of absence. The most successful driver in F1 history concluded his career at the 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix after having scored 91 victories and seven world titles.
