Schumacher thinks about victory in Monaco

Michael Schumacher should have signed his fourth pole on the Rock, but the driver Mercedes will have to move back five places on the grid for having been held responsible for the accident involving Bruno Senna at the Spanish Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion still achieved an impressive performance while the third time in Q3 achieved by Nico Rosberg confirms the good performance of the Silver Arrows in the streets of the Principality. Although the penalty imposed on the pole sitter will be difficult to make up for on this urban track, Schumi still hopes to be able to fight for victory.

“Above all, I am more than delighted to have taken pole in Monaco”, comments Michael Schumacher. “Monaco is the circuit of the season for all of us, to take pole here after everything I've been through for over two years is simply fabulous and I'm going to remember it. I said I was going to fight for pole, start from sixth place and win the race and that's what I plan to do, regardless of what happened before. I had seen my time on the steering wheel (1'14" 301) and I judged it to be good but I didn't know what to expect because I didn't know what was happening behind me. Then I saw #1 appear and I started to believe it until I got confirmation over the radio. »
