Schumacher remains calm despite his disappointment

Michael Schumacher followed Nico Rosberg until his first pit stop. The seven-time world champion stopped on his exit lap after realizing a problem with his right front wheel. The German sees a great opportunity slipping away from him, his teammate Nico Rosberg having won his first victory with a lead of 20 seconds over the drivers McLaren. If the disappointment is great for the former world champion, the performance of the W03 relieves him.

The unlucky man assures that he does not blame his team responsible for his abandonment. “I noticed in turn 3 that there was a problem with the right front tire”, said the pilot Mercedes on the BBC. “There was already smoke and damage in turn 6 and I thought it was best to stop before the damage got worse on the car. I have no anger, I just feel a little sorry for one of my mechanics who must feel responsible. But that's part of the race. We seemed to be performing very well. We told you that we had too much degradation in Australia, that we were not using our tires enough in Malaysia and that we were looking for a compromise. It seems we have found it. »
