Schumacher: “Give yourself time”

Michael Schumacher, before getting back behind the wheel and during the first weeks of the season, was already demanding time. Today, mid-season has passed but the results are still not there. The seven-time World Champion does not despair and is even rather satisfied with the results he can make at this stage of the year.

« I am more or less in line with the expectations I had for this season, knowing what would be impossible to achieve this year, explains Schumi. I never dreamed of coming back F1 and beat everyone immediately. I was absent for three years, I missed a lot of developments on F1 naturally. You have to know how to give yourself time. There are times when you get frustrated with things, like my qualifying at Silverstone. It's part of the game and you have to get through it. »

But the German Grand Prix represents an important meeting for Michael Schumacher. A German driver, he is also at the wheel of a Mercedes, and knows that expectations will be high. “ It’s obvious that this is the peak of the season for us. As a Mercedes driver and as a national team so to speak. This week we had the opportunity to get a glimpse of what the atmosphere would be like here this weekend, thanks to the operations organized by Mercedes. I will do my best to satisfy them. »
