Schumi believes in Massa's return

Michael Schumacher, teammate of Felipe Massa at Ferrari in 2006, has faith in the Brazilian's ability to return to his best level next season. Present in Florianopolis, having responded to the invitation of the Brazilian to participate in the races of karting of the International Challenge of the Stars, the German pilot confided his certainty that Massa will emerge from his convalescence stronger.

« We, pilots, are not prepared to deal with an accident. We have to suffer, suffer and work a lot for our recovery, commented the seven-time world champion. This can make us stronger, as I experienced, and as it should happen for Felipe. »

Michael Schumacher refers to the 1999 season, during which he violently left the track during the British Grand Prix (watch in video). Victim of a broken right leg, he then had to put his career on hold, having even admitted that he felt his heart stop beating for a moment, during the impact.

Felipe Massa, during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix this season, was hit in the helmet by a suspension spring from Rubens Barrichello's car (see 3D analysis). Hit above the arch and having lost consciousness for a few moments, the Brazilian hit the wall of tires at high speed, before being transferred to the nearest hospital. This weekend, the Brazilian makes his return to competition during the event which brings together big names in motorsport.
