Schumi hopes for better in the race

Michael Schumacher (Mercedes), if he has given up on any ambition this season, wants to finish the season as best as possible, in order to get off to a good start for the 2011 season. But, on Saturday in qualifying, the seven-time World Champion was once again eliminated in Q2. Following this disillusionment, after having secured fourteenth place on the grid, the German driver was marked.

« I am very, very disappointed. Things started to go wrong on Friday, Schumacher grants us. Seeing the differences in performance of our cars compared to the others, we decided to set them up completely differently for qualifying. We have, it seems, taken a rather good direction but intended for long stints rather than a single fast lap. The settings are more geared towards racing and it should go better. But, in qualifying, the track was hotter and that worked against us. So a departure at 14 p.m. will certainly not benefit us. »

Michael Schumacher confides that the current situation does not encourage optimism. “ It's a bit difficult at the moment. We don't understand everything. At times, we are a little surprised by the results we obtain. We don?t really have a stable base from which to work. But you know, life offers many possibilities and we must explore some of them. »
