Schumi: “Not realistic to see us ahead”

The criticisms rain, but it remains infallible. This weekend, the world championship of Formula 1 stops in Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix. At the house of Mercedes, developments are expected. These should allow the star firm to get closer to Red Bull, Ferrari et McLaren in pure performance, and allow Michael Schumacher to have a car more to his taste, better adapted to his driving style. Despite more than disappointing recent outings, the German is not giving up, convinced that he will soon be fighting at the head of the peloton.

“The European season is about to start, and we will be able to measure our developments compared to those of our competitors say the 41-year-old pilot. Each team arrives in Barcelona with an advanced car, and we are obviously one of them. I think we will perform well here, because the team managed the first four races extremely well. We have worked to improve the car in general, and I am convinced that we will make even more progress in the future. The step taken for Barcelona is greater than when we go directly from one Grand Prix to another, but it would not be realistic to see us suddenly fighting at the front. I hope to have a better race than in China, and I obviously wouldn't be against getting better results than so far. However, the good news is that after three years of stopping, I am still extremely motivated. So I’m ready to take on the challenge.”

Kaiser fans are looking forward to the first European Grand Prix. Indeed, the Barcelona race should allow us to know a little more about Michael Schumacher's ability to fight for victory again. Schumi no longer has the right to make mistakes?
