Sebastian Vettel on pole position in Singapore

The wonderful series of Mercedes in qualifying ended this Saturday in Singapore. Dominators since the beginning of the year in the exercise with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, the Silver Arrows were unable to rise to the level of Ferrari and Red Bull today.

Sebastian Vettel was finally the fastest at the wheel of his Ferrari SF15-T, thanks to a reference time established in 1'43″885. The four-time German world champion, who managed his tires well by saving a set of super-soft tires in Q1, allows the Scuderia to sign his first pole since Germany in 2012 and also won his first pole in red.

Daniel Ricciardo (Redbull)
is the closest pursuer of his former teammate and precedes Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) and Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull). Lewis Hamilton, who will not equal Ayrton Senna by winning his 41st pole position, and Nico Rosberg will share the third row in front Valtteri Bottas (Williams), Max Verstappen (Toro Rosso), Felipe Massa (Williams) and Romain Grosjean (Lotus).

Disappointment in the Force India clan, since Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Pérez remained stuck in Q2, just like the McLaren de Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button. Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso) was trapped in the second part of the session, hitting the barriers, damaging his car at the left rear wheel.

The Saubers were unable to cross the Q1 milestone, despite the new features brought to Singapore by the formation ofHinwil. Pastor Maldonado and the Manor of Will Stevens, who dominated his teammate Alexander Red, bring up the rear, and should receive penalties for gearbox changes.

The Singapore Grand Prix will begin tomorrow at 14 p.m. and will be followed live with commentary on AUTOhebdo.fr.
