Sebastian Vettel: “I remain positive”

Best time in Q1 and Q2 during the qualifying session, Sebastian Vettel finally had to settle for third place. The German pilot confides on the blog Red Bull that his car changed behavior before the last phase of qualifying.

« Q1 and Q2 went perfectly, confides the 2009 vice-World Champion. Until then, Randy Mandy (the name he gives to his car, see elsewhere) did a great job. The car was fast and reliable, gave me a good feeling. So I expected to do the same run in Q3 »

« But something happened to the car and we think it has something to do with the rear anti-roll bar. I noticed it on the first lap, which explains why my third sector was so bad »

« My front left tire was locking when braking, continues Vettel. At first I thought it would be an isolated case but it happened again. The car just didn't brake the way I wanted it to. I slipped in a turn, end of story. Later, we found that a problem with the car caused this wheel lock. »

« It's a bit annoying, but everything went perfectly until the problem encountered. This is why I remain positive for tomorrow's race in order to fight for the podium. »
