Sebastian Vettel: “The first impression is good”

Nearly 170 laps completed, a best time of 1'18"161 and no major avatar on the track. The SF90's first day on track almost feels like a perfect score played by Sebastian Vettel and Team Ferrari.

The four-time German world champion admits to having had a favorable impression with this car which, he no doubt hopes, can lead him to the world title this season.

“No problem slowed us down and we completed the program you wanted, comments Vettel following this first run. The first impression yesterday was already good (Ferrari had completed a day of filming before the start of these winter tests), and it's the same today.

The car works and I felt comfortable, even if I was a little “rusty” because I haven't driven for several months. I've racked up a good number of rounds and I'm going to sleep well tonight. I'm delighted but I want more.

I was quite open-minded, I didn't have specific expectations. There is a lot of discussion around the new regulations.

I took my time [to discover the car], but it didn't take long, and it was quite easy. It's still the first day, but what the people at the factory were able to put on track today is close to perfect for a first day of driving »

Vettel specifies that he did not experience any difficulty in bringing his tires up to temperature, thanks in particular to the good weather conditions encountered this Monday in Catalonia. The German has made no secret of not liking the design of the new front wing, which he considers too " wide ".

Charles Leclerc will be behind the wheel of the SF90 for the second day of driving in Spain.
