Sebastian Vettel puts Ferrari in the lead this morning

Sebastian Vettel set the best time in the first session of the second day of testing in Hungary with Ferrari. His time of 1’17”124 is already faster than the best time established the day before by Charles Leclerc in the same car and with the same super-soft tires.

For its first in a F1 current, Lando Norris place it McLaren in second place less than a second behind the German on ultra-soft tires. The Englishman was, however, the reason for a last minute red flag at the end of the session. Kimi Raikkonen, having taken over from Vettel mid-session, is 3e with only 20 rounds covered.

Carlos Sainz sign on 4e time ahead of Lucas Auer for Force India. For his second day of testing, George Russell was able to test the Halo on the Mercedes by signing the 6e time.

For his big return in official session, Robert Kubica is the most prolific driver of the morning with 74 laps covered, more than the distance of a Grand Prix. He is ahead Pierre Gasly (Red Bull Racing) and 8e place. Luca Ghiotto also gained experience for his first outing in F1 with 67 laps. Santino Ferrucci (Haas F1 Team) and Nobuharu Matushita (Sauber) complete the top 10.

Two driver changes should be noted for the afternoon with Lucas Auer giving way to Nikita mazepin and Daniil Kvyat who takes the wheel of the Toro Rosso
