Sebastian Vettel holds on to his victory

Starting in third position, Sebastian Vettel made a very good start to take the lead at the end of the first right-left, at the end of the straight. As in the last two Grands Prix, the German led the proceedings with a masterful hand. But, this time, no mechanical failure came to hinder his progress and the pilot Red Bull was able to win, ahead of his teammate, Mark Webber.

« I got off to a very good start by overtaking Nico (Rosberg), confides Vettel. I fought hard to get closer to Mark and delayed braking in the first corner. We attacked each other without doing anything stupid. I got out in front of him and then tried to escape. Mark was behind me and we then increased our lead by saving our tires. After our stops, we attacked more to escape. But how hot was I? I thought the rain would cool us down but ultimately no. »

Sebastian Vettel was ahead of Mark Webber throughout the race, slightly increasing his lead at the end of the Grand Prix. But, for the German, everything was decided in the first minutes. “ The key was to get off to a good start and to take care of your tires. This is a very good result for us. Especially for me, after two difficult races where I should have already finished. After these two failures, it was good to concentrate, to work to be able to win today, without panicking. Mark's second place is a plus and allows us to achieve a superb result. »
