Are we going to experience one of the most contested end-of-season seasons of the modern era in Formula 1 ? If the title race already seems promised Max Verstappen, the suspense is total on each Grand Prix for victory. Today, four teams stand within a pocket square and can legitimately claim first place: Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari et McLaren. All have already won a Grand Prix this season, all have the firm ambition of dominating the second part of the championship.

A fight between four teams and eight drivers is a first in the hybrid era: the top of the table has never been so competitive, and that's not to displease us! The reason for such density? According to Christian Horner, regulatory stability is key. “I remember that when I started in Formula 1, in 2005, Ron Dennis advocated this speech: convergence has always brought the teams closer together. Of course, the rule change in 2026 will cause differences, but until then, over the next 18 months, I think all four teams will be fighting on equal terms.", underlines the Red Bull Team Principal.

A fragile lead for Red Bull

In this context, we can say that Red Bull and Max Verstappen did well to capitalize on their lead at the start of the season with seven victories in the first ten Grands Prix. Now, after the start of the school year in Zandvoort, the Dutchman is 70 points ahead of his closest pursuer, Lando Norris. The equivalent of just under three victories in advance, with nine Grands Prix remaining. However, the same cannot be said for Red Bull which, penalized by a Sergio Pérez who is sometimes transparent and sometimes at fault, finds himself under the threat of McLaren and Ferrari with only 30 points margin...
