Sergio Marchionne: “Enzo Ferrari had indisputable modernity”

This February 18, 2018 marks 120 years since the birth ofEnzo Ferrari in Modena, Italy. The legendary founder of the trans brandalpine initiated one of the most beautiful stories in the industry and in motor racing, notably embodied by Scuderia Ferrari in F1, or even the successes in endurance as in 24 Hours of Le Mans.

A photo exhibition was organized for the occasion at the Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena retracing the different periods of the life of the Commendatore, both on a personal level and in his career as a pilot, manager and industrialist.

“It seems incredible to think that Enzo Ferrari was born in the XNUMXth century, underlines Sergio Marchionne, current president of Ferrari. Its lessons are more relevant than ever and its modernity indisputable.

He was a man with extraordinary vision and ability to manage people and resources, as well as a strong entrepreneurial spirit and exceptional courage.

We wonder what he could have done if he had had access to today's technical resources and knowledge. The mark he left on the world remains a source of pride for all of us at Ferrari and for all of Italy. »

Scuderia Ferrari, which will present its car 2018 on February 22, has been waiting for a world title in F1 since 2008 and the Manufacturers' coronation obtained thanks to Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa. The Maranello-based team has won 16 Manufacturers' crowns and 15 Drivers' titles.
