Sergio Marchionne harangues his troops

With a year without any victory in the World Championship of F1, the 2014 season of the Team Ferrari will remain as the worst in twenty years. A new era has also opened in Italy with the successive departures of Stefano Domenicali, Luca di Montezemolo and Fernando Alonso, confirmed at McLaren. With a duo composed of quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel and the Finn Kimi Räikkönen, and a new Team Principal in the person of Maurice Arrivabene, Ferrari and its president Sergio Marchionne hope to turn things around in 2015.

“I am here to enable you to perform at your best and give you the necessary resources, which, combined with your abilities, will put our fantastic driver duo in a position to fight for the front row. This is why I decided to call on Maurizio Arrivabene, who will do everything to ensure that you benefit from effective leadership, said Marchionne during the Christmas event in Maranello. I have full confidence in Maurizio. He has known this universe for a long time and has the ability to lead the Scuderia in this difficult period for it and for Formula 1 in general. Don't fear change, be proactive and have the courage to come up with ideas. I know you can do it and that’s what Ferrari needs. There are a lot of very talented people in this room. »

The Scuderia formalized yesterday the arrival of the Mexican Esteban Gutierrez as a test and reserve pilot, the latter not having been extended by the Swiss Sauber team.
