Sergio Pérez will discuss his future during the summer

During the weekend of the British Grand Prix, Vijay Mallya recalled it and proclaimed it loud and clear: his two drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Pérez were under contract. If the German's future with Force India seems written, that of the Mexican is perhaps a little less so.

As AUTOhebdo explains in its n°2072 devoted to transfers F1, the future of the former pilot McLaren might not be linked to Force India in 2017, even though Pérez is under contract until the end of 2017.

The main person concerned recalled this at a press conference this Thursday. “As you know, I am a very lucky driver to have many sponsors supporting me, comments the Mexican at a press conference. So I'm not alone.

I don't decide my future alone. I have to obviously talk to my sponsor group to see what is best for our future and we will decide. I think we have some time during the summer break, and we will decide what is best for my career. »

Before the renewal of Kimi Räikkönen's contract at Ferrari just before the British Grand Prix, Sergio Pérez was regularly placed as potential successors to the 2007 world champion, after having been for a time integrated into the fold of Maranello during his Sauber years.
