Sergio Pérez returns to Force India

Sergio Pérez has signed a new contract with Force India covering several seasons. The Mexican will therefore continue to defend the colors of the Indian team alongside Nico Hulkenberg next year, the German having already been confirmed last month. Checo, 12th in the Championship 33 points behind his teammate before the final in Abu Dhabi where he took 13th place, will finally find stability after changing teams twice in recent years, after a failed move from Sauber to McLaren in 2013.

“I saw the desire and determination of all the staff as soon as I arrived at Force India and I am very proud to be part of it”, commented Pérez. “I feel at home here. We have already achieved top-notch results together (with a 3rd place in Bahrain). It’s important for me to have stability. The team gave me a car competitive this year and I think we can do great things again in the future. »

This confirmation does not surprise the paddock of the F1 since Dr. Vijay Mallya, the director of the Indian team, had made it known several weeks ago that he wanted to keep the same crew in 2015. “Checo is a true racing driver who has done a magnificent job for us this season. The entire team was impressed as much by his speed and dexterity in the race as by his abilities off the track. He is a real talent for the future of F1 and we will do our best to provide him with the best equipment. I look forward to celebrating further performances from Checo this year and beyond, particularly at the Mexican Grand Prix where it will be its national event. »
