Giving the parents of the drivers a voice is not always the smartest thing to do. In recent days, Antonio Pérez has in fact been the author of derogatory remarks about Ralf's sexuality Schumacher, in an interview with ESPN. The German, who revealed last July that he had a homosexual relationship, had criticized Checo Pérez in recent weeks for his glaring lack of results at Red Bull.
It must be said that the Mexican scored two and a half times fewer points than his teammate. Max Verstappen since the start of the season (151 against 393), and that he is too often light years away from the level displayed by his Dutch teammate. Under contract until 2026, Sergio Pérez is nevertheless under pressure to keep his seat next year, at a time when Liam Lawson is doing a good job at Racing Bulls and Franco Colapinto is of great interest to Christian Horner.
Asked before the Las Vegas Grand Prix about the remarks made by his father Antonio, Checo Perez immediately distanced himself from his father's words: "I don't agree with any of his comments. I think he made a mistake in that regard. I don't share any of his opinions. But at the same time, I don't control what my father has to say, I can only control what I say."
And the Mexican continues. "It's important as a sport to always show that whatever happens on the track, it always stays on the track. That's how I see it and we should always be an example to the rest of the world."Despite the very inelegant words spoken by Perez senior, Ralf Schumacher remained very polite, even understanding. "I would also support my son 100% and try to help him. That's what you do as a father." he said, while his son David is himself a GT driver.
"As for the style, I would approach things differently, but we know Mr. Perez with all his emotions. That's why I don't blame him. However, I think the results on the track would be the best argument." Schumacher also explained. Checo Perez has gone two Grands Prix without a single point and will have to do better if he wants to help Red Bull win the Constructors' World Title. No offense to papa Perez!

Papa PEREZ is not far from a big con... near him who affirmed very recently that his son TexMex was the most famous man in Central America and even South America. Paternal love visibly makes one very blind in Mexico ... but perhaps Papa PEREZ should force himself much less on the mezcal which can do damage in case of excessive consumption!
