Very far behind the second place of Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez was unable to advance to Q3. A surprise for the pilot Red Bull who will start from eleventh position this Sunday, behind Sébastien Hag. The Mexican will have to quickly get back to the top of the peloton to allow his team not to lose too many points in the Manufacturers' championship against Mercedes. At the microphone of Canal +, the current 4th in the general ranking simply described it as “disaster” his qualifying performance.

" A desaster. A disastrous qualification. We weren't able to achieve anything. Our lap at the pit lane exit was compromised as I had no grip on the track. We will try to make overtaking possible this Sunday. I really hope that tomorrow we can be fast in the race and that we can quickly get back to the top ».

This Sunday, Sergio Perez will have the advantage of choosing his tires, and will have to come back quickly. A matter not so simple because in front of him are notably the Alpine and Alpha Tauri who have shown great pace on the track since the start of the weekend. The Qatar Grand Prix will be followed from 15 p.m. on AUTOhebdo.fr.
