Silverstone – Grosjean resumes his march forward

Romain Grosjean had started his weekend badly at Silverstone with his accident in FP1 forcing him to miss the second practice session, but the driver Haas recovered well afterwards to take eighth position on the starting grid for the British GP.

The 2011 GP2 Series champion seems to be on good momentum since he managed to secure a place in Q3 for the first time for the third time in a row with the American team.

“I am obviously delighted with this performance, especially since we were not able to run yesterday afternoon and we only did one lap on soft tires yesterday morning. The red flag occurred in FP3 (following the accident of Brendon Hartley) also disrupted our program quite a bit”, recognized the French pilot on Canal+.

If Romain Grosjean failed two tenths behind his teammate Kevin Magnussen, the Frenchman is relieved with his position on the grid.

“The Saubers were extremely fast. The team's performance is therefore really good with the two cars 7th and 8th. I did a lap not daring to take all the risks after what happened yesterday, but it was the right thing to do to achieve a good qualification. Our race pace was pretty good this morning, it’s promising for the rest of the weekend.”, he said.

Romain Grosjean remains on a 4th place obtained last weekend at the Austrian GP, the best result for the Haas team in F1.
