Simon Roberts new F1 managing director of Williams

Williams Racing will be able to count on a new general director F1 from June 1, in the person of Simon Roberts. A well-known figure in the F1 paddock since after starting at McLaren in 2003, Roberts had officiated with Force India in 2009 before returning to Woking the following year.

He most recently held the position of operations director within the English team, and will be responsible for planning, operations and the development and design process. He will report directly to Executive Director Mike O’Driscoll.

“Simon will bring enormous experience and knowledge to the Williams team, and we are delighted that he will join us when we return to work after this long shutdown, says Claire Williams, Grove's assistant team principal.

He will lead a very talented team who look forward to designing and developing the next generation of Williams F1 cars. »
