Singapore: Hamilton snatches pole from Rosberg

Lewis Hamilton came back from the devil in qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix to snatch pole from his rival Nico Rosberg with a lap completed in 1'45"681, ahead of the Championship leader by only seven thousandths. The 2008 world champion, winner of the second edition in 2009, won his sixth pole of the season, the second in a row after Monza (Italy) and the 37th of his career. The Silver Arrows were however in difficulty during practice and were still behind during the first qualifying sessions.

Competition is indeed present since the Red Bull de Daniel Ricciardo et Sebastian Vettel follow a few tenths behind in second row. On the other hand, the Team Ferrari could hope for more Fernando Alonso who only takes fifth place while Kimi Räikkönen finds himself seventh behind Felipe Massa. Williams made a sensational comeback after difficult testing as Valtteri Bottas follows in eighth place ahead Kevin Magnussen and Daniil Kvyat who again beat their respective teammates since Jenson Button and Jean-Éric Vergne failed at the gates of Q3.

The Force India and the Sauber follow in the second part of the peloton where Romain Grosjean only occupies 16th position. The Lotus driver was very angry with his Power Unit which had cuts during qualifying. Jules Bianchi will start from 19th row.

The start of the Singapore Grand Prix will be given tomorrow at 20 p.m. (14 p.m. in France).
