Will we soon see the Formula 1 renew its ties with France? For the moment, the organization of a Grand Prix is not on the agenda even if the idea has been often mentioned since the last visit of F1 in 2022 to Le Castellet.

This week, it was Flavio Briatore who put the issue back on the table on the sidelines of the F1 event in London. Asked about a possible return of the French Grand Prix in the future, the executive advisor ofAlpine did not object but did raise another idea for Formula 1 to roar again in France.

« Not in Magny-Cours or Castellet, but in Paris, he explains. In Magny-Cours, there is half nothing and in Castellet, it was impossible for traffic. Formula 1 deserves a Grand Prix in Paris, says the Italian manager. Not in the city centre, not under the Eiffel Tower but over there, it is magnificent. [We must go] where there is all the hotel capacity to accommodate everyone that F1 attracts, the sponsors, the people who work for F1. It is not Castellet and even less Magny-Cours that can offer that. Everyone wants a Grand Prix in France, Formula 1 is missing from France! A Grand Prix in Paris, that would be great »

An idea that is not entirely new since the organization of a Grand Prix in the Paris region had already been discussed. It was for 2010 while the French GP had disappeared after the 2008 season, with a project for a circuit close to Disneyland Paris, in Marne-la-Vallée, which ultimately did not see the light of day. Not to mention that the Formula E performed in the capital from 2016 to 2019.

A French Grand Prix, obviously yes, in Paris, with the current officials, town hall or region, who are either against the automobile, or indifferent, with the government too busy elsewhere, with no circuit,,, just a possible investor, the LVMH group, there is water to pass under the Zouave,,, but let's hope,,,

Reading these negative comments, these readers must be too young to react so negatively, or have never had the chance to attend an F1 grand prix... France or elsewhere, chills guaranteed gentlemen..!!

No matter the location, France, due to its history in motor sports, must have its name on the F1 calendar, even alternately..!!

let's look at the problem the other way around, why would we need a French Grand Prix? and who wants one? there's already Monaco and personally, I'd rather see Spa, Silverstone or Monza continue than a Scalectrix in town! they're real circuits, Magny Court has always given soporific Grand Prix, as has the Castelet without a straight line to unload the wings! no one cares about cars and motorsport in this country, even at Le Mans there are more English than French! anyway, when you're in front of your screen (millions of viewers for 100000 on site), who cares what country it's happening in? plus, we're so good that we lose money every time. the prestige of France? who still believes in it? we can't afford to give any illusions anymore!

There will never be a GP in Paris, the environmentalists don't want cars anymore, so we shouldn't think about F1, and if it's to make a circuit like Miami.

Presided over by Macron.....ah but no, fortunately he will no longer be president if that were to happen! But let's not dream, Paris and France need many other things in the next 10 years :(:(:(

Beyond yet another urban karting circuit designed by Tilke, impossible with the current bitterness of Paris and inconceivable given the state of France's public finances. We must stop fantasizing!
