'Senna' released in Europe in June 2011

The film “Senna” retracing the career and life of the three-time Brazilian World Champion F1 will be released in Europe next June, we learned at Interlagos. This feature film, already previewed in Japan during the Japanese Grand Prix, is being screened for its world premiere in Brazil this week, as part of the Grand Prix, in Morumbi, where the former driver is buried McLaren. The official release of the film in Brazilian theaters is expected on November 12.

« I saw it yesterday, it?s extraordinary. It reminded me of things I had forgotten. It's not a film about car racing but about Ayrton's life in general. », Tells us Bruno Senna, nephew of Ayrton. “ I haven't seen it this week but don't worry, I'll be the first to go see it when it comes out in theaters », commented Rubens Barrichello, forgetting that, on November 12, he will not be in Brazil but in Abu Dhabi, for the last Grand Prix of the season.

This feature film (1h40), composed of images from already known archives, is enriched by previously unpublished documents from the drawers of FOM (Formula One Management). If certain scenes are known, the images are less so.

In this film, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna?s opponent throughout his career, holds a preponderant place, without being given the status of “villain”. On the other hand, the darker role of Jean-Marie Ballestre, former president of FISA and FIA, is highlighted.
