Contrary to what we have read since the start of the year, the first two free practice sessions on Friday will remain 60 minutes each, instead of the 90 minutes announced. In fact, the Formula 1 wanted to give the teams more running time during the weekend, in order to be able to understand and develop the new single-seaters more quickly.
But according to our information, the free practice sessions on the first day of a Grand Prix weekend will retain the 60-minute format, already seen in 2021. The 90-minute free practices have no longer been seen in Formula 1 since 2020, and are not expected to return any time soon.
