Stefan GP tries F1 again in 2011

Stefan GP, just a few weeks ago, insisted in his press releases to show his great desire to join the paddock from this 2010 season. The Serbian team had bought the activity F1 de Toyota et proposait de faire rouler les Stefan-01, héritières des TF110, avec Kazuki Nakajima and Jacques Villeneuve on board. Despite the motivation of the Serbian businessman and the announced withdrawal from US F1, the FIA decided not to grant a place on the starting grids to the two Stefan-01s.

A few weeks later, after the Toyota-Stefan GP agreement was broken, Zoran Stefanovic revised his project. Being able to prepare for an arrival in Formula 1 with more time, the Serbian signed an agreement with the municipality of Stara Pazova, a town near Belgrade, in order to build a circuit to F1 standards and establish his headquarters there. The construction of the "Stefan Technology Park" provides for the installation of the team's headquarters as well as a technical complex intended for the Serbian team, which is officially a candidate to join Formula 1 in 2011.

« I think this is a great step forward for our team, for Stara Pazova, the region and the country, says Zoran Stefanovic. This is proof that we want to establish ourselves as a serious team, and that we really want to get into Formula 1 in the long term. Knowing that we will soon be able to be compared with the top teams, in terms of resources and structure, the Stefan Technology Park aims to be able to compete, and we expect improvements for our future project. »

Pending the FIA's decision, which should take place at the beginning of July, Stefan GP is therefore occupying the media space and hopes that its project will be studied carefully. Alongside this announcement, the team reveals the list of twelve drivers with whom it discussed at the start of the year to occupy the seat of the two Stefan-01s for the 2010 season. We find there, unsurprisingly, Jacques Villeneuve and Kazuki Nakajima, but also Takuma Sato, who finally left IndyCar Series, Karun Chandhok, recruited by HRT, Christian Klien, driver Peugeot en Endurance, Ralf Schumacher, pilot of DTM, Bertrand Baguette, Formula champion Renault 3.5 Series and gone to IndyCar? and Sebastian Loeb, six-time World Rally Champion!
