Steiner: “Many think we will have big problems”

If Haas F1 Team had created a surprise by winning the points during the first races of the 2016 season, the American team subsequently returned to the ranks, however securing 8th place in the Manufacturers' Championship ahead of Renault Sports F1 Team.

Haas F1 Team will already have to face a new challenge this year with the new regulations put in place and the replacement of Esteban Gutiérrez by Kevin Magnussen, but the team management nevertheless appears confident for the rest of the operations.

“I wouldn't say the second season is usually harder than the first, but many think we'll have big problems, admitted Gunther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team. They also predicted that we would have major problems in the first season, but we didn't have them. Our preparation went better than last year and I also hope that the performances of the car are better. »

“The tests went well in any case, added Gunther Steiner. I hope we have some success in the first race, like we did last year, and bring home some points. We know that this second season will be tougher and we have prepared as best we can. Let's wait to see a few races and see what we can do. »

Haas F1 Team took 6th place in its first Grand Prix in Melbourne (Australia) last year thanks to Romain Grosjean. The 2017 season begins at Albert Park on March 26.
