Steiner: the middle of the pack is unpredictable

If Haas F1 Team missed the points at the Hungarian GP played before the summer break on July 30 at the Hungaroring in Budapest, the American team can expect a different hierarchy this weekend at the Belgian GP at Spa-Francorchamps which offers the longest route of the season.

Günther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team, highlighted the variable performances of the mid-pack teams evolving according to the different circuits encountered this season.

“We will bring elements for the low downforce package used in Spa and Monza (Italy). We are confident that it will work, but everyone is going to do the same thing, comments Günther Steiner. As usual, it will be tight in the middle of the pack. It’s a good thing to have two similar races one after the other. If you are good at Spa, you are normally good at Monza too, but the opposite is also true. »

“We had the 4th fastest car in Austria and it was Renault who had this potential in Hungary, adds Günther Steiner. There are a lot of ups and downs in the middle of the pack. It seems that Renault and McLaren have progressed well, but that may be due to the routes. Nobody really knows. Everyone is speculating and I don't want to get into that because it doesn't help. »

Haas F1 Team is in 7th place in the Constructors' Championship, 10 points behind Toro Rosso but now only has a 3-unit lead over Renault Sport F1 Team.
