Stroll surprised that Leclerc was not penalized after their clash in Sochi

True to his placid nature, Lance stroll did not vocalize his disappointment but it was nevertheless clearly perceptible behind his health protection mask.

Deprived of his last flying lap in Q2 due to engine overheating in qualifying, the Canadian started from 12th place on the grid in Sochi. At the exit of turn 4, Stroll was already in 7th position after a very good takeoff, one of his trademarks since his arrival in F1 in 2017.

It was then that we saw the Montrealer's RP20 spin before hitting the wall. Very quickly, it appeared that Stroll had been attached to the right-back, the images immediately confirming the presence of Charles Leclerc inside.

While the Monegasque calmly continued his way towards a good 6th place, Stroll had already gone to the shower and was answering questions from journalists.

« It was a very risky move on his part, I gave him all the necessary space, lamented the Canadian. I'm quite surprised he didn't take a penalty. I was on the outside the whole time and he hit me at right-back. I think it was an avoidable accident. He didn't need to touch me. The lack of sanction is a bit ridiculous ».

The pilot Ferrari was not even the subject of an investigation by the Sochi commissioners, while similar incidents between Lewis Hamilton et Alexander albon in Brazil last year and in Austria this season twice resulted in a 5-second penalty for the rider Mercedes.
