The Mexican event could well dedicate Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) like the 2017 world champion. The Briton, 3rd on the grid, can afford to finish 5th in the event of a Polmean victory Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari). The latter will have a clear track in the direction of the first braking, but will have to be wary of a Max Verstappen (Red Bull, 2nd) revengeful. Behind, the Finns Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) will occupy 4th and 5th places.

The French troop will be led by Esteban Ocon (Force India), 6th on the grid. For Romain Grosjean (Haas) and Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso), mechanical problems got the better of a good pace in testing, and will try to make up for their delay in the race.
