Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) will aim for a 3rd victory in 4 races by starting from pole again. The Monegasque will face Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) on the front row, the Briton being the last winner of the event.
Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) will start from 3rd row in front Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Carlos Sainz Jr. (McLaren), Max Verstappen (Red Bull) being only 9th following his penalty. All single-seaters powered by Honda, the Red Bulls and the Toro Rosso, will withdraw after receiving similar sanctions.

Si Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) will thus start at the back of the peloton, his compatriot Romain Grosjean (Haas) will have better hopes starting from 8th place.
The weather is expected to remain dry and teams are expected to adopt a one-stop strategy. However, Mercedes will evolve on a different strategy since its two W10s will start on medium tires unlike the rest of the first part of the peloton.
