The two belligerents for the world title, Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) will start side by side on the first line. The Briton could take the crown in the event of victory and a final sixth place for the Ferrari.

Placed just behind, Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes, 3rd) could play the team race during the dizzying climb towards the first braking; Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull, 4th), still on the lookout, ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari, 5th). The Frenchy Esteban Ocon (Force India, 6th) is ahead of the newcomer at Renault Carlos Sainz Jr. Romain Grosjean will aim for Top 10 points having signed the 12th time.

It became a bad habit, a shower of penalties disrupted the starting order. For changing items in the engine compartment, Max Verstappen (Red Bull, +15 places), Nico Hulkenberg (Renault, +20 places), the beginner in F1 Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso, +25 places) and Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren, +30 places), will start 16th, 18th, 19th and 20th respectively. As for Lance stroll (Williams, +5 places) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas, +5 places), they were found guilty of obstructing Romain Grosjean and Sergio Pérez (Force India, 9th) in testing.
