It is possible to identify two favorites for the best time this morning. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) largely dominated the debates during the two Friday sessions contested under the Oceanian sun. However, heavy showers soaked the track on Saturday for most of Free Practice 3 ; Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) made the talk by putting on ultra-soft tires at the end of the session to set the benchmark time.

Behind, the fight for runners-up seems fierce among the mid-table teams (Renault, Haas, Toro Rosso, McLaren et Williams). Very difficult to announce a first hierarchy among these teams.
