As is often the case, the predictions turn to the side of the stands Mercedes et Ferrari, however with a slight advantage for the Silver Arrows. Behind during the first free practice session on Friday, Lewis Hamilton considerably increased the pace in FP2 and then in FP3 on Saturday morning. The Briton notably improved the track record.
The Ferraris, suspected by Valtteri Bottas of hiding their real potential on Friday evening, did not threaten the Mercedes in FP3. Sebastian Vettel must, however, achieve pole position (or at least start ahead of Lewis Hamilton) if he wants to put pressure on his opponent for the title.
