Follow US GP qualifying with live text

Held on the Circuit of the Americas in Austin (Texas), the United States Grand Prix can allow Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) to win his fifth crown in the event of an average performance of Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari). His task has already been made easier for him in qualifying, as the German received a three-place penalty on the grid for driving too fast under a red flag in free practice.
Too bad, because the results of Free Practice 3 suggested a clear upturn in form for the Scuderia. The two red cars recorded the best times in the only training session held on a dry track (Friday having been very wet).
However, it is certain that the Mercedes will be one to watch; Lewis Hamilton was only 73 thousandths behind Sebastian Vettel in FP3. Valtteri Bottas could well only play a role of foil, he who was rejected by more than seven tenths.
