Who will take pole position after a year of absence from the Formula 1 in Hockenheim (Germany)? Find out by following our live text of qualifying for the German Grand Prix, which will begin at 15 p.m.
It's a rare occurrence, the weather played spoilsport during the last free practice sessions on Saturday morning. The rain prevented the teams from carrying out evaluations of the settings to be used in the race. The lessons learned from Friday's tests (on a dry track) will not even be of much use for qualifying, since the track is still wet despite the end of the downpour.
Some drivers took the risk of registering a time in Free Practice. Charles Leclerc (Sauber) achieved the best mark while half of the peloton wisely stayed in the garages. The day before, the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen dominated the other competitors, but the Mercedes as well as Ferrari were threatening as usual.
