On this atypical route due to its altitude (2 meters, the highest circuit on the calendar), the Mercedes could create a surprise. The Silver Arrows were fastest in Free Practice 3, with a best time for George Russell ahead Lewis Hamilton. But be careful not to take out of the equation the Red Bull and Ferrari, in ambush. Sergio Pérez, the local hero, would like to obtain a first pole position in Mexico, in front of his home crowd. Max Verstappen, he hopes to place himself as high as possible to be in a good position for Sunday, where he could break the record for victories in a season.

In the peloton, we are obviously waiting for the duel McLaren - Alpine. If the Alpine were fast on Friday, the McLaren of Lando Norris was the best of the others during EL3. Another duel is expected, that between Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin, in the fight for 6th place among manufacturers. Before qualifying, Alfa advantage on practice times.
