On to qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix. After three free practice sessions in the streets of the city-state, the trend is towards a new fight between the championship leader Max Verstappen and the pilots Ferrari, Charles Leclerc et Carlos Sainz.

Having his first match point to end the fight for the title, Max Verstappen will be keen to take pole position in order to be in a good position to win the Singapore Grand Prix and potentially his 2e world crown. However, the pilot Red Bull will have to hope for a misstep from Charles Leclerc who must finish 8e or lower to be titled, and that his teammate Sergio Pérez does not score 3e or better.
Behind the leading group, Alpine wants to get back on track after his zero points at the Italian Grand Prix three weeks ago. While the McLaren have suffered during the first day of driving in the streets of Singapore, Fernando Alonso et Esteban Ocon could take advantage of this to get ahead of them in qualifying this Saturday before perhaps dominating them on Sunday during the Grand Prix.
