Susie Wolff official Williams test driver

Since April 2012, 31-year-old Briton Susie Wolff, wife of Toto wolff executive director of Mercedes AMG F1, held the position of development driver within the team Williams Martini Racing. She notably took part this season in Friday free practice at Silverstone in England. In 2015, the team founded by Frank Williams will promote Susie Wolff to the position of official test driver.

“We are delighted that Susie will continue with the team next season in this new role, explains Claire Williams, Team Principal-Assistant of Grove’s training. She continues to impress us with her strong technical knowledge, feedback and performance when driving the car both on track and in the simulator. She has continued to increase her time behind the wheel since joining us in April 2012 and her appointment as an official test driver was a natural progression. We have a very strong and stable team for 2015 and this will be a key asset as we look to build on a positive 2014 season. »

Susie Wolff will take part in two free practice sessions in 2015, as well as two test days spread over the season. “This is another step in the right direction for me. I am delighted that Williams recognizes my progress, my hard work and that it is performance that counts. Williams is at a very exciting stage in its history and we enter 2015 with fantastic momentum, I am proud to be part of the team. I will use my position to work closely with Felipe and Valtteri to ensure that the FW37 builds on the performance demonstrated by the FW36. »

The Finn Valtteri Bottas and Brazilian Felipe Massa remain Williams' two starting drivers in 2015, and the British team is currently evaluating several drivers for its development program.
